Xiaomi partnered with Leica in 2022. Since then, the company has used several phones, including the latest Xiaomi 13T series, with Leica optics. Today, the company confirmed that the upcoming Xiaomi 14 series is equipped with Leica Summilux lens.
According to Xiaomi, the camera on the Xiaomi 14 series with Leica Summilux lens will offer the best mobile imaging experience to date, and the new professional high dynamic range image sensor for mobile optics will allow mobile devices to really utilize and capture images with full capabilities in all situations and scenarios.
Leica Summilux lenses are used in phones from HUAWEI, which was one of Leica’s first smartphone partners. The Xiaomi 12/13 series phones, the Xiaomi 12S Ultra concept phone, and Leica’s own Leitz Phone 2 use “Summicron” lenses.
Recently, some images with LEICA VARIO-SUMMICRON branding have surfaced. Xiaomi has also confirmed the launch of the Xiaomi 14 series later this month. Earlier rumors pointed to a launch date of October 27, while we will get more details during the Snapdragon Summit on October 24.
